Views From Drake’s Wrist

This Tuesday the artist Drake dropped his anticipated album Views.  Over the past decade Drake has gone from a charismatic supporting actor on MTV’s Degrassi to a titan of the music industry.  Weather its a Saturday Night Live skit, hosting the ESPYs, or selling out tours Drake is sure to earn a spot in your heart as a valuable entertainer.  The album has a genre blending sound to it, calling to mind elements of classic R&B, trap, and house music.  Mixed together it all creates a sound with vibes that can contribute to a layed back lounge setting or a no holds bar Vegas party.

Seeing as this is a watch/ jewelry blog we wanted to celebrate Views, Drake’s fourth studio album and seventh full-length release, with a view into a very special watch he owns.  The Audemars Piguet Royal Offshore Self-winding Tourbillon Chronograph is by far one of the finest tourbillons the brand has ever made.  This limited edition watch was manufactured in a small group of only 50 pieces and has a movement created specifically for the run.  It houses a combination of the tourbillon movement and the chronograph movement which is a rare mix indeed.  The chronograph mechanism has a new, highly-efficient coupling yoke principle.  The positions and shapes of springs and levers have been optimized to give a precise and gradual tactile sensation to the «start- stop» function when the chronograph is activated.   This watch has a Forged carbon case, glare-proofed sapphire crystal caseback with Royal Oak Offshore engraving, black ceramic bezel, crown and pushpieces, titanium pushpiece guards.  Truly elite in craftsmanship and price, this watch is valued at $277K.
