Louis Erard Unveils Three New Petite Seconde Stone Dials: Malachite, Lapis Lazuli, Aventurine

Direct on the tail of their Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève nominations for their collaborations with Massena LAB and seconde/seconde, Louis Erard has returned with a re-envisioning of their popular stones collection as first seen on their Régulateurs dials of 2021. The new limited edition Petite Seconde series from the Louis Erard Excellence collection once again features a trinity of natural stones celebrating the sky, trees, and earth of the magical Jura region where Louis Erard was founded. Only 99 pieces of each dial will be created.

Like the Régulateurs of 2021, these new Petite Seconde timepieces show off the interplay of luxurious materials and stunning colors. Each dial is unique and bears the traces of the millions of years that have shaped the natural stones and mineral glass from which they are made. The precious stone dials recall the long history of traditional watchmaking, which Louis Erard continues to perpetuate with its own distinct touch.

Louis Erard Excellence Petite Seconde Malachite

Louis Erard Excellence Petite Seconde is available in three exciting new versions, each limited to 99 pieces and taking up the codes of the series of precious stone and mineral glass dial Régulateurs of 2021. The forest green Malachite edition evokes the essence of a fresh woodland pasture brushed by German artist Gerhard Richter and comes with a handsome grained calf leather strap to match. The illusion of even brush strokes serves as a spectacular foundation for the snailed opaline second hand counter at 6 o’clock, further accented by its anthracite transfers.

A perfect size for any wrist, the case of this new watch collection has been refined to 39mm, but still retains all of the signature elements the brand is regarded for: metal indexes, fir-tree hands, and the engraved crown. Learn more about the Petite Seconde Malachite here.

Louis Erard Excellence Petite Seconde Lapis Lazuli

Like a flash of Yves Klein blue on the wrist, the Louis Erard Excellence Petite Seconde Lapis Lazuli is a work of art in its own right. The deep celestial speckled blues represent the welcoming light of day and stands out against the cool stainless steel 39mm case, protected by sapphire glass.

A watch for the bold at heart, the striking hues of Lapis Lazuli shine proudly with its vibrant morning blue grained calf leather strap wrapping this decidedly cerulean color around the wrist. Louis Erard Excellence Petite Seconde Aventurine

Where the Lapis Lazuli welcomes the day, the Aventurine dial of the Louis Erard Excellence Petite Seconde Aventurine signals the midnight sky and almost appears to twinkle with the depths of the galaxy and beyond. The darkest of the three dials, the Louis Erard Excellence Petite Seconde Aventurine brings an understated sophistication to the wrist.

All three watches feature an exhibition style case back allowing a direct view of the Sellita SW261-1 calibre, the beating heart of these timepieces. Comprised of 31 jewels, the automatic calibre runs at a frequency of 28,800 VpH (4Hz), allowing for a 38 hour power reserve. The special open-worked oscillating weight shows off a black lacquered Louis Erard symbol, while the perimeter of the caseback provides the Limited Edition engraving count.
