A Brief Armin Strom History
Armin Strom, Founder
Mr. Armin Strom established his first watch shop in 1967 in the town of Burgdorf, where he would develop skills in the art of hand-skeletonization well before it became mainstream. Many mainstream brands would come to call on Mr. Strom as a resource to create limited edition skeletonized watches and become a legend in the art of hand-skeletonizing watches.

Serge Michel, from one of the most prominent families in Switzerland, and Claude Greisler who began training in his grandfather’s workshop, took over for Mr. Strom when he retired in 2006. Both Serge and Greisler worked in Mr. Armin Strom’s shop during their childhood and became passionate about the Swiss-German watches that captivate us.
Serge Michel & Claude Greisler
In 2009 Armin Strom had its own fully-integrated Manufacture giving the company the ability to handle all facets of watch design and manufacturing. This year also saw Armin Strom introduce the first in-house calibre, the ARM09. With no limits but their imaginations, Armin Strom has been able to bring even their most complex ideas to you.
Armin Strom Watches to Purchase
Armin Strom Gravity Equal Force 18KRG Limited Oster Edition
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Oster Jewelers, an exclusive Armin Strom series of watches was created. After the GEF Oster Edition sold out in 2020, this follow up series was highly anticipated. It explores new dimensions pulling inspiration from tapestry designs and steps outside the box from the typical interpretation of what a watch design should be. This limited edition timepiece highlights the technical brilliance of Claude and the artistic execution of Kari Voutilainen (Comblemine) for a truly memorable watch.
Inspiration for the dial plate pattern was drawn from a vintage watch that Jeremy Oster used to wear that featured an incredible tapestry pattern. Kari worked off of photos of various tapestry dials to create a superb, modernized version of the classic pattern from the 1950’s. He presented various sizes of cuts which each showed a very different take on the original but they eventually landed on the pattern that looked the most modern and would appear to play with light the most. The result is even more striking than anyone could have imagined, as seen in this 18k rose gold edition. Only 10 pieces of the rose gold edition will be made worldwide. Armin Strom Gravity Equal Force Stainless Steel Limited Oster Edition – Sold
For the dials of the Armin Strom Gravity Equal Force Limited Oster Editions, Jeremy and Claude Greisler worked together to finalize the design. The main aim of the design was to take a really interesting and hugely successful watch and add a new dimension and not play “safe” with a typical interpretation made to just sell watches.
Instead, they looked to really create something special that is an evolution of everything that Armin Strom had created within Gravity Equal Force up to this point and to highlight the unique technical brilliance of Claude’s creation along with the stunning artistic execution of Kari Voutilainen (Comblemine). This has more than been achieved with these two special editions. Only 10 stainless steel pieces will be made worldwide. More info and purchase details.
Armin Strom Tribute 1 Blue Edition
From a distance, the Armin Strom Tribute 1 Blue Edition watch may appear to be a classic manually-wound dress watch. It has an exquisitely proportioned 38 mm stainless steel case with an enticingly slender profile and is presented on an elegant alligator strap – everything you would expect in an haute horlogerie dress watch. But a closer inspection immediately reveals that while Master Watchmaker Claude Greisler has embraced time-honoured watchmaking traditions, he has, in fact, again redefined the genre with a watch that will appeal to all who treasure the brand’s unique twist on time.
In keeping with the aesthetics of the manufacturer, the Tribute 1 retains its focus in three dimensions. It begins with an understated off-centre dial exhibiting hours, minutes and seconds. In handsomely bold contrast to the dial is an adjacent plate with its grenage finish subtly alters the hue of the dial from one shade to another with the changing of light. The distinctive watch face is rounded out with a barrel bridge, a feature that has become a hallmark in Armin Strom’s exclusive timepieces. Prioritizing the comfort for the wearer, the crown of the Tribute 1 has been relocated to 2 o’clock, a departure from earlier models. The Armin Strom Tribute 1 Blue edition revisits the history of Armin Strom with a watch characterized by its modern aesthetics, classic proportions, technical distinction and exceptional hand-finishing. A limited edition of 100 pieces. Visit Oster Jewelers to learn more.
Armin Strom Edge Double Barrel
The Armin Strom Edge Double Barrel fuses the fine detailing of a skeletonized timepiece with the practicality and strength of a sports watch. Powered by the ARM16, the bold skeleton dial moves proudly behind the sapphire glass inside the sizeable 47 mm Black PVD coated stainless steel case. The manual-winding movement allows for an impressive 8 day reserve, highlighted by the red indicator in the seconds sub-dial.
A limited edition of only 100 pieces, this handsome watch demonstrates style and function in a powerful piece with extreme detail paid to the finishing throughout from the brushed gears and wheels to the polished sides of the bridges. Visit Oster Jewelers to learn more.
